Project description

Since 2010, DB AG has been extending the suburban railway line from Dresden-Neustadt via Coswig to Meißen-Triebischtal, and the expansion of the long distance route Leipzig – Dresden, running parallel to this as far as Coswig.

The section between Radebeul West and Radebeul East was extended from two to four tracks for approx. 5 km.

This was accompanied by civil engineering and structural engineering works, with the expansion of the new electronic signal box track equipment, and the new built of overhead contact line systems, and energy supply units.

The majority of the route is on an embankment, and has 8 overpasses.

The platform access tunnel and the construction of several 100 m of supporting wall, are also part of the complex route extension.

At the three stopping points Radebeul East, Radebeul Weintraube and Radebeul West, available in the track section, new island platforms were built with barrier free access.

This also includes the new build of platform roofs, lifts, supply lines with cable routes and platform equipment.
