Complex measure “Weimar 2010” Weimar train station – Vieselbach train station, replacement of overhead contact lines

In the course of the economic stimulus programme 2010, the overhead contact lines in Weimar and Vieselbach train stations, and the neighbouring track sections up to Erfurt (a) were replaced.

The dismantling of the old system and the immediate replacement of the system, took place “while the wheel keeps rolling”, in closure breaks according to the construction phase concept.

In addition, cable routes had to be relocated in certain areas, to clear the way for construction, and complicated rail crossings and point mechanisms with constructive special solutions had to be built.
