Project client:

Project volume:
€ 19,000,000
Project description
The Rethe lift bridge in South Hamburg, built in 1934, serves to connect the port areas in Altenwerder/Moorburg and Harburg to the middle free port, and to relieve the main port route across the Köhlbrand bridge.
Building a replacement structure was preferable to repairing the existing structure, due to economic aspects.
The changed traffic situation as a result of the new build, brought about the demolition of the Rethe lift bridge.
Due to the demolition, it was necessary to adjust the navigation channel.
Additional supporting walls in embankment areas and the connection to the new road layout, were the content of the demolition plans, which were supervised and expertly checked.
