Project description
Preparation of a feasibility study for two new railway lines from Divaca to Ljubljana (approx. 104 km) and from Ljubljana to Zidani Most (approx. 64 km)
These sections should be part of the European high speed line Lyon-Trieste-Divaca/Koper-Divaca-Ljubljana-Budapest-Ukrainian border‘ (TEN-T priority project No 6). Based on an intermodal traffic model for whole Slovenia, corridors should be defined under consideration of strategic, technical, environmental and economical aspects. It is to be highlighted that this project is the first high speed railway line (250 km/h) in Slovenia and due to missing regulations for high speed lines it should be part of the project to define technical requirements (specification) in accordance with European standards (TSI) and under consideration of the experience of different European countries in realisation of high speed lines. Beside this it is a very demanding task to find eligible corridors in a mountainous landscape (high difference some 1000 m) with a high density of high protected areas (natura 2000, FFH etc.) As the result, the study should find the best solution on a basis of an evaluation of different variants and scenarios and should prove the technical and economic feasibility of this Preparation in JV.
