Project description
The city of Dohuk is in the North of Iraq, approx. 70 km behind the Turkish border, and is one of three provincial capitals of the autonomous region of Kurdistan.
Dohuk is in a valley basin, with development areas in a Western direction towards the Tigris.
The city has individual collectors for the drainage of rainwater into the public preflooder.
A waste water sewer was not present.
On the basis of the digital data, created by flying over and the evaluation of aerial maps, and the master plans for waste water and urban development, created beforehand, a rain water sewer was planned for the whole city.
Thereby, the already planned but not yet built waste water sewer system, and the existing open preflooders and the outer catchment areas were considered accordingly.
For the future expansion areas (prognosis horizon 2036), necessary capacities were planned into the main collectors, and rainwater retention systems were considered.
