Project description
“Duty Free Warehouse Facilities” consisting of a warehouse for “Qatar Duty Free” and an “In-flight Duty Free warehouse” were developed for Qatar Airways, at Doha airport (NDIA).
In phase 1, the warehouse was laid out for 24 mil. passengers/year, for phase 2 (since 2015), for a predicted growth to 48 mil.
The duty free warehouse has a floor area of 11,250m², and consists of a steel frame supporting structure on in-situ concrete foundations, with composite ceilings on the intermediate floors, and sandwich panels on the roof and on the walls.
The goods for Qatar Duty Free are stored in the building, before they are sent to various display areas on the airfield; from there, the duty free shops in the terminal are serviced.
The in-flight duty free store has a floor area of around 2,000 m². This is where the articles are stored, that are sold “on board”.
The size of the plots also guarantees future expansion, parallel to the development of the airport.
