Project client:
Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur, Indian Ministry of Railways
Project description
The Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVI) and the Ministry of Railways of the Republic of India (MoR) declared, on the basis of a “Joint Declaration of Intent”, that they will develop and strengthen the cooperation in the area of railway transport.
The feasibility study to be compiled should analyse the concrete economic, social and ecological advantages of the realisation of high speed transport (HST) in India.
The various concepts for the realisation (new railway section/expansion) should be compared and transferred to the Indian framework conditions, on the basis of an approx. 500 km long corridor Chennai – Bangalore – Mysore.
In particular, the mixed operation, and integration of the existing infrastructure should be considered.
After the selection of preferred options, the whole infrastructure was planned for this, the effects on people and nature were assessed, detailed operating concepts were developed, and the cost-benefit analysis was created.
