Project description
In the scope of redesigning the Middle Ring, the regional capital of Munich will tunnel under the section from the connection of the A 96 via Luise-Kiesselbach-Platz with the connection of the A 95, and Heckenstallerstraße to Passauer Straße.
With a total length of approx. 3 km, the tunnel is one of the largest urban building measures.
Two tunnels are built with a length of 1.5 km and 600 m.
The approx. 600 m long section between the two tunnels, is developed as an open trough, and provided with sound protection walls.
A two lane road bridge will be built across the motorway A 96 Munich - Lindau, on the exit ramp to Garmischer Straße, with the existing connection to the federal motorway A 96.
In the course of the project, a total of approx. 66,000 m² tunnel area, approx. 11,000 m² trough structure and approx. 800 m² bridge areas will be built.
Due to the restricted space, and to reduce interference with traffic, the cut-and-cover construction method was chosen.
