Project description
Modern, accessible and customer-friendly passenger railway stations are the fundamental pre-conditions in order to increase the acceptance and use of the regional rail transport on offer.
As a continuation of the modernisation programmes and measures implemented up to now, in the future, rail passengers in Lower Saxony will be offered an infrastructure at even more passenger rail stations that corresponds to these standards.
As part of the project Niedersachsen ist am Zug! III, the regional railway stations Barsinghausen, Stadtoldendorf, Voldagsen, Bruchmühlen, Melle, Westerhausen, Augustfehn, Varel, Aschendorf and Lathen will be modernised by 2021.
The goal is to put a uniform quality and service standard in place, as well as establish complete accessibility, in all railway stations.
In principle, it entails measures in the area of the platforms, improvement and adaptation of entrances, as well as the improvement of platform amenities for passengers, protection from the weather, customer information and customer service.
