Project description
The B 4/75 runs through the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg, and connects Harburg with the city centre.
In the course of a feasibility study, it had to be checked whether a reorganisation of the highway network, through route relocation of the B 4/75, or network extending measures, would be technically and legally possible.
The route length is 4.5 km.
The variant investigation included the possible highway connection of a cross port route, and merging the highway with the railway tracks, incl. planning positioning systems of the port goods trains, and relocation of the tracks.
Furthermore, the corresponding civil engineering structures were investigated for the individual variants.
Apart from finding routes for the variants provided, the traffic systems had to be measured logistically, the suggested solutions had to be optimised, and the costs and realisation horizons estimated, and compared to the criteria of economic viability, urban planning and traffic effects, and environmental compatibility.
