Project volume:
€ 25,000,000
Project description
The 368 m long Petersberg tunnel (route 3010 Koblenz – Perl) will be replaced using the tunnel-in-tunnel method.
This will be the first time this has happened in Germany whilst maintaining electrified operation.
To this end, Vössing – together with the executing work group – has developed the special suggestion of a continuous housing, which screens off the rail operation from the work areas, until readiness for execution.
Particular challenges were the approvable conception of the housing with an overhead conductor rail, very high loads from the tunnel expansion portal, which appeared as a result of blasting, and affected the foundations of the tunnel, and the specified short blocking period to assemble the housing.
The planning also included:
- Construction site installation in the flood zone of the Mosel incl. a pile foundation for the crane
- Demolition planning for the supporting walls
- Superstructure planning for the existing structure
- Special construction to fasten signal to a bridge pile
- Planning slope stabilisations under dynamic loads from the blasting
