Project description

In the scope of the development of the Allianz-Arena, a traffic guidance system was set up in North Munich, which accepts the traffic into the subordinate urban network, and guides it onto identified routes to the stadium, in the case of accidents or congestion on the motorways leading to the stadium.

The traffic light systems on these routes had to be retrofitted, to implement the appropriate guidance strategies, in terms of signalling technology.

The 29 traffic light systems affected, were integrated into the Munich transport network guidance system, in this context.

This “external transport guidance system” supplements the so called “internal transport guidance system” for traffic management within the stadium area, with automated parking space allocation.

Vössing took on the planning of the signalling system hardware, and the expansion of the switchboards, and was responsible for the management of the overall commissioning of the traffic guidance system in the area of the new football stadium.
