Project description
When expanding the network of the suburban railway Rhine-Main, the Rodgau line formed a further important milestone, with the two routes Offenbach East - Upper Roden (line 3661) and Offenbach-Bieber - Dietzenbach (line 3662).
The previously one-track, non-electrified line was expanded to two tracks, for approx. 28 km, and to single track for approx. 1.5 km, completely electrified and connected to the electronic signal box in Offenbach East, with the latest signalling technology.
The designed speed is 120 km/h.
In total, 12 stations were converted to suburban railway standard, two stations were rebuilt, 14 P+ R-/B+R systems were set up, 18 railway crossing replacement measures, and 2 railway overpasses were built, and technical security measures were set up and/or installed at 14 railway crossings.
