Opis projektu

In 1985, the Hugenwaldtunnel was brought into operation, in the course of the Waldkirch bypass.

The 1,135-m-long tunnel is operated with two-way traffic, the standard cross section shows two driving lanes, and emergency walkways on both sides, meaning that a clearance gauge of 10.50 m x 4.50 m emerges.

Due to the increased requirement for security, in accordance with the guidelines for equipment and operation of road tunnels (RABT 2006), a complete renovation was required for the Hugenwaldtunnel Waldkirch.

The most important and most expensive component of the renovation, was the construction of an additional, parallel rescue tunnel.

The further expansion programme included the structural renovation of the road tunnel, the replacement and addition to the tunnel operating technology, the environmentally friendly renovation and expansion of the drainage facilities, and the reconstruction of a tunnel operation building.

Vössing was assigned with the tasks of construction monitoring.
