Opis projektu
The approx.1,000 m long Waisentunnel is an underground tunnel in the district of Berlin Mitte, only used for service runs.
The tunnel starts to the south of the underground station Jannowitzbrücke, crosses under the Spree, the underground line U2 near Alexanderplatz and ends up at U5 near the underground station Alexanderplatz.
From the “Waisentunnel”, the so-called “Klostertunnel” branches off to the underground line U2. The tunnel has a new bituminous seal near the surface.
Inside the tunnel, the damaged concrete and steel components of the approx. 100 year old structure are being renovated.
In addition, a feasibility study was compiled for the renovation of the and a variant analysis for a replacement new build.
