Opis projektu
The Rethe lift bridge, built around 1934, is located in South Hamburg.
It serves as a road and rail connection between the areas of Neuhof in the North and Hohe Schaar in the South.
After a 70 year service life, the bridge is so damaged, that it needs to be replaced by a new one.
The new build as a two wing bascule bridge, takes into account the expected increase in road and rail operation, without restriction of the nautical clearance height.
The structure with separate bridges for road and rail traffic will have a span width of 104.2 m.
The project is divided into three lots:
Lot 1: New Rethe bascule bridge (incl. control stand, operations building) and foreland bridges
Lot 2: Permanent road bridge to the South of the Rethe, and supporting walls
Lot 3: Demolition of the Rethe bascule bridge, expansion of the navigation channel, final rail and road construction etc.
