Opis projektu
Planning section 2 of the new Cologne - Rhine/Main railway line has a total length of some 15 km and is divided into 4 part sections, namely 2.1 Troisdorf-Spich, 2.2 Troisdorf , 2.3 Siegburg and 2.4 St. Augustin.
With the exception of section 2.4, existing track systems and stations were extended for the new line. Siegburg station has been developed as an ICE station providing an optimal link to the metropolitan railway to Bonn, to bus services and individual modes of transport.
In section 2.4 the separation from the existing DB tracks takes place and from here the new line runs parallel to the A 3 motorway. Here a tunnel with a length of approx. 2,500 m had to be built for the crossing of the River Sieg and the A 560 motorway.
As a result of the expansion of the existing track system within the municipal area of the cities of Troisdorf and Siegburg, adjustments and new plans were needed for the existing municipal roads.
A level crossing in the municipal area has been replaced by an underpass.
